The inaugural Weed Kitchen project was part of Human Doings, at Festival of Unpopular Culture, Adelaide. It was a collaborative response to Sydney artist Diego Bonetto's work, particularly his weed tours.

We installed a makeshift cafe and held cooking classes out front of the Adelaide Center for the Arts building on Lights Square. The cafe's aim was to celebrate wild greens, rare fruits and native foods. Ideas were exchanged and knowledge gained through sharing a meal and spending time together with the artwork. The work incorporated an impromptu shelter or warung (street food stall) and sculptural elements of 'weedy' plants such as olives, fennel and prickly pear growing in mobile bags and suitcases.
